WHY WAS IT DEVELOPED?

Companies across the world are making the change to International Financial Reporting Standards - the global corporate reporting language. The European Commission requires listed companies in the European Union to use IFRS for their consolidated accounts from 2005.

For many companies this change raises some far more challenging issues than the transition to the Euro. IFRS will impact on:

  • Internal and external reporting - what system changes will be needed to produce the data for mandatory accounts?
  • The key 'earnings' number, budgets, forecasts - how different will they be under IFRS and how will the market respond?
  • Management rewards - how different will they be if linked to a company's performance under IFRS?

P2P IFRS was developed by IFRS experts to provide a 'just in time' solution to the knowledge gap on IFRS. It is the first step in enabling people to communicate fluently in the global language of corporate reporting. If people at all levels in your company understand what IFRS is about, managing the transition to avoid unwanted surprises in the market will be much easier to achieve.
